Canadians intending to visit Cuba must be in possession of a passport which is valid for at least 6 months.
Cuban Tourist Cards are generally provided by tour operators or flight companies that organize the trip, or can be obtained from the Cuban mission in the case of privately organized flights. A visitor's visa is required if you plan to stay at a private residence.
Cuba does not recognize dual citizenship, and under its laws such individuals are considered to be Cuban citizens while in Cuba. Persons born in Cuba must travel on their Cuban passport with the appropriate permission from the Cuban Embassy or Consulate in Canada. Cuba will not accept passports that do not indicate the place of birth.
