U.S. citizens intending to visit Tanzania must be in possession of a passport which is valid for at least 6 months.

Although visas are available upon arrival, it is strongly recommended to acquire visas before leaving the US. A tourist visa is valid for 6 months from the date of issue, but the duration of a stay cannot exceed 3 months. Frequent visitors and business persons should request multiple-entry visas.
