Canadians intending to visit Venezuela must be in possession of a tourist card (provided by the airlines) and a passport which is valid for at least 6 months (if entering with a visa) or for the duration of stay (if entering with a tourist card).
Upon arrival, all travellers are given a tourist card by the airlines. This card is actually a small two-page form and is stamped by an immigration officer. The traveller keeps the yellow copy and the immigration officer keeps the white copy. The card allows the visitor to remain in Venezuela as a tourist for 60 days, but this term can be extended for up to 6 months. Any extension is subject to a fee charged on a monthly basis. The tourist card must be presented prior to departure; a lost card may result in delays until a replacement is obtained.
